Privacy Policy

Effective 8 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-08

This policy explains how Better You Everyday Pty Ltd (ABN 35 689 290 980), trading as Tickabit ("we", "us"), handles personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Information we collect

  • Account and contact details: name, email address, password (stored only as an encrypted hash), date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), and optionally your country, city and profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google name, email address and profile picture.
  • Subscription and transaction records: plan, trial and renewal dates, payment status and invoices. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • What you enter in the app: habits, goals, to-dos, check-ins, mood/energy/drive tags, reflections, course answers, Builder projects and side-hustle results.
  • Photos, videos and voice recordings you choose to upload (for example habit photos, proofs, voice notes and course reflections).
  • Community content: posts, comments, reactions and messages.
  • Accountability partners: the name and email address of anyone you invite.
  • Referral attribution data: the referral code or link you joined through, and for affiliates, referral and commission records.
  • Support communications: emails and messages you send us, including AI support chats.
  • Technical and usage information: AI feature usage counts, push-notification subscription details (including your browser type), error reports and server logs.

Some of what you enter (such as mood tags, health habits or journal text) may reveal information about your health. Only enter what you are comfortable with, and do not post sensitive information publicly.

2. How we use it

  • to provide your account and subscription and process payments;
  • to personalise features, reminders, scores and your dashboard;
  • to deliver AI-assisted tools (see section 3);
  • to run community and accountability features;
  • to prevent fraud and misuse, and keep the service secure;
  • to provide support and send service emails and notifications;
  • to administer affiliate referrals and commissions;
  • to improve the service.

3. AI features

When you use AI features, the relevant information (for example your habits, logs, goals, messages to the coach, and proof photos you submit for checking) is sent to AI models to generate a response. These models are accessed through Abacus.AI and include models from OpenAI and Anthropic. AI output can be wrong; see our Terms of Use.

4. What other people can see

  • Other members can see your name, profile photo and community content. Depending on your settings they can also see your leaderboard position, proof photos, Builder project and city. These settings are on by default and you can change them in Profile. Your email address is hidden by default.
  • Uploaded photos, videos and voice notes (other than course reflections, which are private) are stored at unlisted web addresses. Anyone who has the exact address can open the file.
  • Accountability partners you invite receive regular reports and a private dashboard link. They can see your name and photo, completion rates, streak, score and rank, your latest mood/energy/drive signal and trend, and the names of your active habits. They cannot see your journals, course answers, voice notes or AI chats. Anyone holding the link can view the dashboard, so only invite people you trust. You can remove a partner at any time.
  • Referrers: if you joined through someone's referral link or code, they can see your name, when you joined and the status of their commission.

5. Service providers and overseas disclosure

We use service providers to run Tickabit. They receive only the information they need for their service:

  • Abacus.AI: app hosting, database, AI processing and sending emails.
  • OpenAI and Anthropic (through Abacus.AI): AI models.
  • Amazon Web Services: storage of uploaded files and downloads.
  • Stripe: payments, subscriptions, invoices and the billing portal.
  • Google: sign-in with Google, if you choose it.
  • Cloudflare: website delivery and security.
  • Browser push services (Apple, Google, Mozilla): delivering push notifications you turn on.

These providers are located, or store data, outside Australia, including in the United States. We use providers we consider to have appropriate safeguards. We may add or change providers (for example hosting, analytics, payments, messaging or AI processing) and will update this policy when we do.

6. Emails and marketing

We send service emails and notifications, such as trial reminders, password resets, reminders and accountability reports. You can turn off non-essential emails and push notifications in Profile.

We do not currently send marketing emails. If we do in future, we will only do so where permitted by law, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe option.

7. Advertising and data sales

We do not sell your identifiable personal information. We may in future introduce advertising, and use aggregated or de-identified insights (which do not identify you) for commercial analytics. Before any change to how we disclose identifiable information to third parties, we will update this policy and tell you, as required by privacy law.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

  • Sign-in cookies keep you logged in and protect against forged requests. They are essential.
  • Referral cookie (tb_ref): when you open a link with a referral code, we store that code for 30 days so the referrer can be credited if you join.
  • Local storage on your device remembers app preferences (for example display settings and guide progress).
  • Our hosting and security providers (Abacus.AI and Cloudflare) may set technical cookies needed to deliver the site securely.

We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.

9. How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is open. Video proofs are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Habit photo albums keep your latest 3 photos per habit unless you change that setting.

If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except records we must keep by law (for example billing and tax records, which Australian law generally requires us to keep for 5 years) or need to resolve disputes and prevent fraud.

10. Security

We protect information with measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access restricted to authorised staff, and payment card handling by Stripe. No system is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.

11. Access, correction and deletion

You can update most of your details in Profile. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. We aim to respond within 30 days.

12. Age

Tickabit is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

13. Questions and complaints

Contact our Privacy Officer, Better You Everyday Pty Ltd, at [email protected] or PO Box 112, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217, Australia. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

14. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change. We will tell you about material changes by email or in the app.
